ALFASIN B TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

Retanning Resin rev.2 from 13/05/13

PROPERTIES

The great advantage of ALFASIN B come from the fact that it may be incorporated at high rates in the leather and nevertheless do not produce the problems linked to the use of traditional resins which are mainly penetration difficulty and hardening of the final product.

ALFASIN B brings to the leather a firm, full hand and a low level of elasticity.
The leathers retanned with the product are firm and do not show loose grain.
Buffing such skins leeds to the production of a fine uniform and brigth suede effect.

ALFASIN B do not affect the tinctorial yield of the dyestuffs. The final colour of leather retanned with the product is similar to the one obtained on pure chrome wet blue as well in terms of saturation of colour than in terms of tone.

This caracteristic is particularly usefull in case of nubuck or splits where dying is an essential part of the final quality of the item, representing the most costly stage in the process.

In case of shoe upper or small skins production ALFASIN B is fully appreciated as it is now possible to confer to chrome tanned leathers an aspect of vegetable retanned item, not having the necessity to introduce it during the process.

This aspect is very insteresting as ALFASIN B, like vegetable extracts, confers to the grain surface a high glossing reactivity when polishing. This imparts the possibility to produce natural glossing leather without finishing.

The possibility let to the tanner to use large quantities of the product finds is application in the production of buffed leather where, when applied at the level of 15% ALFASIN B acts as a drum impregnation, thus allowing direct finishing on the crust.
